'Tupamaro' (Uruguayan guerilla) leader and prisoner held hostage for thirteen years during the Uruguayan dictatorship. Prolonged torture and confinement led to mental disorder. Incredible but he survived. Today he is a Swedish citizen and a scientist renowned for his research into Alzheimer disease. All these lives are harboured in Dr Henry Engler's life.
The scientist of today evokes the prisoner of yesterday, the well in which he was forced to live ,the military in charge of his custody, his comrades in captivity. The film proposes a further journey -an inner one of reflection- which leads us to the prisoner's world of hallucinations and strategies to cope with the inhuman.
